As I have said before I believe if a photo looks good in colour then it should look equally as good in black and white. Here is the proof if any is needed.

Wanaka in Autumn
I should have titled this photo "What a difference a day makes". Same location, same time of day and season. The "only" difference is the quality of the ambient light due to light cloud cover overhead. On the downside this reduced the saturation and contrast but on the other hand it made the lighting more even and gave the location a rustic realism.
