The neighbours lilies have kindly appeared in our front yard again this year!
Using my digital camera I hope to convey in this journal the wonder and joy of living in a beautiful and mysterious land called New Zealand.

Ship on a Slip
This disused ship has been around a long time. It was originally used to dredge the harbour channels but that was a long time ago.
Right now Ithink it is being preserved for a maritime museum.
Whatever is happening to her they seem to be spending a lot of time and money keeping her seaworthy for some future use.
Anyway I thought it was an ideal subject for my new camera at the time!

On The Slip
I'm not sure what they are planning on doing with this old dredging ship but there has been a lot of time spent keeping her seaworthy

Home Grown Spring Blossom
Spring is here once more and what a pleasure it is to leave the winter months behind for another year.
A Spring Evening at the Station
With the camera in tow and time on my hand I made the most of the early evening sunset which provided a radiant splash of colour at the Railway Station. Spring has been good this year with many pleasant mornings and afternoons like this one.

Some additional post processing has been done using flickrs picnik online photo editor. I think it has some useful features such as the vignetting function.

Dunedin In Spring
Looking north from the southern end of the Railway Station.
This view of the grounds outside the Railway Station is unusual in that there are no people! Normally it is swarming with dozens of visitors and tourists each day. So I took the rare opportunity to get a 'clean shot' in good light.

Dunedin Railway Station In Spring
At long last I have managed to get a decent photo of the Railway Station without tourist buses or cars surrounding it!
