Allans Beach is situated 25 minutes from Dunedin on the south-east coast of the Otago Peninsula near Hoopers Inlet. It's a great place to take a picnic or just go wandering. This picture was taken at the northern end of the beach.
Recently someone from the Northern Hemisphere asked, "does your sky really look like this". The simple truth is yes it does. On a sunny day the sky really does look this blue.
I took this photo during a visit to Queenstown using a very small and simple digital camera. It is one of my very earliest photos and still one of my favourites. This handheld shot was taken with a Sony P92 5 megapixel digital camera.
Larnach Castle is a famous landmark in Dunedin. It is a popular spot for tourists and locals frequently have weddings here. Here it is in all its glory during the middle of summer.
Otago Harbour has many sheltered bays along the length of the peninsula. Boatowners frequently moor their yachts in these inlets as they provide convenient access and excellent refuge from the elements.
